Tribune, Publisher of the Chicago Tribune and Los Angeles Times, said it hired advisers to look over the plan. It will take $900 million to get the deal done in cash. Acquiring Tribune newspapers in Los Angeles, Chicago, Orlando, Baltimore and Hartford, Conn. “fills a number of geographical gaps for us," Gannett CEO Robert Dickey told USA TODAY.
